Desert Heat 2012 Rocket Shoot March 24th & 25th
The Southern Arizona Rocketry Association is excited to announce their 8th annual Desert Heat rocketry extravaganza at TIMPA. Last year’s event was a record breaker with more than 1,000 rocketeers, youngsters and their families attending. There were more than 700 launches made, 78 of them in the crowd pleasing hi-power (H to N impulse) range. This year promises to be just as popular with generous sponsors donating prizes.
The event will once again feature the popular mass launch of 50 flying tetrahedrons on both Saturday and Sunday. Each rocket is numbered and all 50 will be launched simultaneously. After they land the kids are encouraged to retrieve one and trade it in for a prize.
RENEW OR JOIN TIMPA NOW FOR THE 2012 FLYING SEASON!
Now is the time to send your TIMPA renewals in! For 2012 we are changing things around a bit due to our new runway project. To help defray the cost of the new runway TIMPA is going to require all new and renewing members to pay a one-time Runway Assessment Fee/Initiation Fee of $100. To help offset this added cost, our annual membership fee has been reduced to just $50 for 2012. Also, there will be only one Assessment Fee per family membership and Youth Memberships are still free. See the Membership webpage to see all the details. Here is a link to the new 2012 renewal form you can print out, complete, and mail in.
